The Euclid Police Department is at 545 E 222nd Street, Euclid, Ohio 44123. The non-emergency line is 216-731-1234. The department has a dedicated Records Division that handles a wide range of documents tied to arrests and police activity. This unit processes and stores records on crimes, arrests, towed cars, orders of protection, warrants, motor vehicle crashes, and public records requests.

The Records Division does more than file paperwork. Staff assign incident reports, process payments for towed vehicles, redact and release reports, manage public records requests, validate data entry for crime reporting, warehouse records, and handle warrant entries and purges. They also manage expungements from multiple judicial systems in Cuyahoga County. It is a busy office.

You can reach the Records Division by email at epdrecords@cityofeuclid.gov or by calling 216-289-8474. Record requests can be made in person, by mail, or through email. If you need criminal reports or statistical data, the records team can help with that too.

Online Police Report Search

Euclid stands out from many Ohio cities because the police department runs an online police report search tool. This system lets you pull up recent police reports from your computer. There are a few things to know before you start.

The online search does not include incident reports filed before May 15, 2016. For accident reports, coverage goes back to 2015. When searching, you need the report number in a seven-digit format. The first two digits are the last two digits of the year. So if the incident number is 12345 and it happened in 2016, you would type 1612345. If the number is shorter, like 123, pad it with zeros: 1600123.

This tool is free. You do not need an account. It gives you direct access to many of the same records you would get by going to the station. For records that are not in the system, contact the Records Division directly.

You can also submit a public records request through the City of Euclid's public records portal. This route works well for documents not covered by the police search tool.

Fees for Euclid Police Records

Most simple requests are free. But if you need a large number of printed pages or special media, the department charges fees.

Printed reports and documents over a certain volume cost $0.10 per page. A CD-ROM copy is $4.00. A flash drive is $5.00. These fees cover the cost of materials. Electronic copies sent by email are usually free. If you are unsure about costs, call the Records Division first and ask.

Cuyahoga County Corrections Center

Euclid does not run its own jail. All people arrested in the city go to the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center, which is run by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office. The corrections center has two locations, both in the Cleveland area. The main facility is the Downtown Jail. There is also a facility in Euclid itself. Together, these sites process over 26,000 inmates each year and employ around 700 correctional staff.

When someone is booked into Cuyahoga County, a record is created. This record shows the person's name, date of birth, charges, booking date and time, and bond amount. Under ORC 341.02, the sheriff must keep a jail register with each prisoner's name, the date and cause of commitment, and the date and manner of discharge. These records are public.

The jail houses inmates charged with both misdemeanor and felony offenses. People are held while awaiting trial, serving short sentences, or waiting for transfer to state prison. Visitation is done through a video system. You can use kiosks at the jail or connect from home using a smartphone or laptop through the Securus Technologies website. An account is needed to schedule visits.

How to Search Cuyahoga County Booking Releases

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office is the primary source for jail roster data. You can call them at (216) 443-6000 for help. Their office is at 1215 West 3rd Street, Justice Center 3rd Floor, Cleveland, OH. Walk-in requests are welcome during business hours.

Ohio's public records law, ORC 149.43, gives everyone the right to access booking records. You do not need to say who you are or why you want the information. Agencies must respond within a reasonable time. If they deny your request, they must give you a written reason that cites a specific legal basis.

For simple requests, you can usually get what you need in a few business days. More complex requests that involve many records or redactions take longer. There is no charge to look at records in person. Copies may cost a small fee.

Euclid Municipal Court Records

The Euclid Municipal Court handles cases that come out of local arrests. Court records can tie a booking release to a case number, hearing date, and outcome. If you need court documents, contact the court at info@euclidmunicourt.com. The court keeps its own set of records that are separate from what the police or county jail maintains.

Court records can fill in gaps. A booking release tells you about the arrest. Court records tell you what happened next. Together, they give you a more complete picture of a case.

Statewide Search Tools

If someone arrested in Euclid ends up in state prison, you can track them through the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. The ODRC runs an offender search tool that covers all state inmates. Search by name or offender number. Results show current facility, sentence length, and projected release date. This tool is free.

VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) is another resource. VINE lets you track an offender's custody status and get alerts when they are released, moved, or escape. You can sign up for notifications by phone, email, or text. The service is free and covers jails and prisons across Ohio, including the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center. The toll-free number for VINE is 877-654-8463.

Under ORC 5120.21, the state must keep records on everyone committed to state correctional institutions. While full inmate files are not public, certain information is permitted to be disclosed: the person's name, criminal convictions, photograph, supervision status (including current and past place of incarceration), and disciplinary history.

What a Booking Release Shows

A Euclid booking release will have several key details. You will see the person's full name, date of birth, and a physical description. The record lists charges, the arresting agency, and the date and time they were booked into the jail. Bond or bail amounts appear if they have been set.

Many booking records include a mugshot. Remember that a booking release is not proof of guilt. It only shows that an arrest was made and the person was processed. What happens in court determines the outcome of the case.
